The Magic of March

With all the March daylight savings, Daddy and I thought it would be appropriate to lead this blog with our cool shades photo! My record for keeping glasses on now is about five seconds, so Mommy snapped this shot just in time!

Today is the last day of March, Grandpa's birthday! Happy 69th, Grandpa! I am an Aries like you, a ram! That must explain our amazing energy and exuberance! I'm so happy you are coming to my own birthday in 13 days!

On my recent visit to Charlotte, I got to see Cousin Harrison and to be held, hugged, and kissed by Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Jon. Harrison is a lot of fun and he really is a great playmate! Last time, he was the one kissing my lights out. I think he kissed me four or five times before I left on his second birthday. I was sad we didn't play kiss again, but at least I got to see Lincoln the Golden Retreiver. He's really furry and sweet!

Uncle Jon, who Mommy affectionately refers to as Bon Bon, holds us both without a hitch!

Aunt Jennifer's lap was warm and comfortable as she cuddles us, too, and shares the love with Lincoln, as well!

As you can see below, I have quite a few teeth, eight at last count! My bottom two came in first, followed by my top front four. A couple of molars are appearing now and the sensation makes me want to chomp on food, toys, and occassionally, people. Ms. Aliki from Butterfly Kisses Academy told Daddy tonight that I bit her when she was holding me as she turned to give attention to another baby. I wish I could convey to Daddy I didn't mean to hurt her! It's probably no surprise that I like attention, and maybe I just wanted Ms. Aliki to notice my new pearly whites!

If I'm not inside the house or at Butterfly Kisses Academy, you might be able to find me in my swing in the backyard! I like to be outside with the birds and the trees and to feel the breeze in my hair and on my cheeks. After about ten minutes, though, I'm just ready to go back inside and tinker with some toys, read some rhymes, or blow some bubbles.

When I think no one is looking, I crawl over to my high chair booster seat and sit in it. It's so satisfying! Over the last day or so, I have been crawling over to Mommy and Daddy and situating myself in their laps as they sit Indian Style on the floor. I also enjoy crawling up to the drop-down door of the dishwasher and playing wth the carriages. Mommy let me crawl up onto the door tonight as she was unloading it and I got to pull out plastic dishes and hand them to her.

I find lots of things interesting these days and really have become more independent in my play. Being the neat little girl that I am, I often pull books from my bookshelves and then, sometimes I even try to eplace them in their appropriate place.

Bath time is fun! I take a bath in the big bathtub now, but still love to be snuggled up in my bunny wrap afterwards!

Speaking of bunny rabbits, I got my first visit from the Easter Bunny! He left some candy, eggs, toys, bubbles, and mini-books! Check out this Easter Egg I made at Butterfly Kisses Academy with my very own handprints!

I spent the first part of Easter with Mommy, Aunts Liz and Tara, and Cousins Charlotte, Kyralia, and Courtney. We went to an Easter Egg Hunt out in the country. It was fun! The sunshine kissed my shoulders and the breeze whispered in my ear.

After hunting for eggs, I was ready for a little nap.

Later, we went to Nana's and Papa's to celebrate and had great fun Nana and Papa participating in a giant Easter Egg Hunt. Charlotte, Kyralia and I found all kinds of eggs with tiny treasures inside. I found five! Some were hidden in trees and some on rocky outcroppings, but rest assured, I found them all by myself and Mommy just helped me reach them!

Mommy and Daddy hug and congratulate me after the egg hunt. As you can see, I have one in each hand, yet am still looking around in the trees for more.

Did I ever tell you Nana loves me?! Papa does too, but he was busy photographing the children and grandchildren and hiding eggs!

Cousin Kyralia and I stare at each other after meeting for the first time! We had only met the night before on Easter Eve in Nana's bed as she read to us from one of her giant books. Charlotte was there, too!

Aunt Tara holds Kyralia next to my first-born male cousin, Rylan, who is due in early May!

Mommy and Daddy dressed up on Saint Patrick's Day like they were going to an 80's prom. They were participating in an event organized by Aunt Tember called the Totally Awesome 5K. Proceeds went to Trosa. It was raining and thundering outside when the event started at 5PM, so Mommy opted out. She did manage to slide herself into a few pictures for some fun posing, but instead of sweating it out in the rain, we hung out at the Mad Hatter Coffee Shop with Aunts Liz and Tara and Cousin Charlotte. Daddy, Aunt Tember, and Uncles Eric J. and Eric M. ran the whole thing in the middle of a downpour.

Uncle Eric J. walks behind as Mommy poses for the camara. I'm glad she doesn't wear blue eye shadow everyday. It was scary.

Mommy poses with Aunt Tember and the rest of the girls in the running club! Don't count on 80's fashion rubbing off on me!

Daddy poses with some of the running club guys! Daddy grew up in the 80's, but somehow, he left his collar pointing down!
