Milestones of May

I took my very first steps on Friday, May 16 when Mommy picked me up from Daycare. I didn't take too many steps again until May 30th two weeks later.

I am also knocking on doors now, licking my pointer finger (a trick I've seen Mommy do on a number of times when she wipes yummy goop of my chin), giving high fives, climbing the cat hotels like a monkey, entertaining pseudo-pretend fake laughter and entertaining pseudo-pretend fake crying, putting things back where they belong, stacking blocks, drinking from a cup with assistance, sipping from a straw, and as a budding flautist, I occassionally toot on my red plastic recorder. On June 1, I began dancing to both country and hip hop. While most of my moves are original, I've mastered some of the old-skool moves such as the fist over fist bread role of "Pattycake, Pattycake".

One of my most humorous maneuvers is speed-crawling. I am quick on the crawl and I can always get to my destination fastest by tucking my head down and extending my arms out in front of me. I am more aerodynamic when I use this form and it helps me get to my favorite peeps fastest.

MOTHER'S DAY

I made a card for Mommy to show her how much I appreciate her. Of course, Daddy helped and I signed it with my handprint. Mommy will cherish it forever. Later in the day, we celebrated with Aunts Liz, Tember, and Tara and of course, Nana. I had a good time.

RUCKAS

The Pacifier Pilferer (in action)

Mommy and Daddy affectionately refer to me as the "pacifier pilferer" because often they find me in possession of a pacifier. They conclude that I must have taken the pacifier from a pal or at best, found one in my travels.

While visiting Mimo on April 27th, Mommy and Daddy documented my acquisition of his pacifier over a period of about three minutes. It's become such an art for me that Mimo never even noticed it had gone missing! I'm on to new and more exciting things now so I don't mind sharing some of my trade secrets...

1) Here you can see the "vic" (Mimo, in this case) standing and suckling on his beloved pacifier while playing with his mother's hair barrett. Meanwhile, I sincerely amuse myself with his mother's silver bracelets

2) I make my move and distract him by throwing a silver bracelet onto the floor and taking interest in the barrett.

3) He takes the bait, and swift as a fox, I pluck the pacifer right from his mouth without him even taken notice! I even got away with the barrett. The "vic" doesn't even know what happened. He's just happy to have the bracelets to play with. I have truly mastered this art!

4) Yes, as you can see, I'm quite proud of myself here... I really am getting too good to be patting myself on the back for these kinds of antics.

5) It all happened so fast and Mimo never put up a fuss so I just gave it back to him.

6) Then, I resumed playing with the silver again.
